The end of the noisy one

Julius Malema has been in the news for as long as anybody can remember- and usually not for the right reasons. I have held back discussing him until after the appeals process has run it's course. Although, he is allowed to appeal the new sentence, I think it is the correct time to have a look at MR M.

Little Julius joined the African National Congress at 9 years old and his first task was to remove National Party Posters. After a questionable election, our Julius was elected president of the ANC Youth League (ANCYL) in April 2008. (And again after his rival simply dropped out in 2011-again under a cloud of power abuse)
And the fun began.

Julius has been an example of contradictions- he bashed Mugabe and his policies, yet a year later, he visited and praised the Old Nut Job for those very policies he bashed. He has always been blatantly anti -white, calling for Zimbabwe style farm and business seizures. He even defended Mugabe's human rights record. Seriously!!
When Jacob Zuma was elected top leech on the ANC tree, it was Malema who swore he would die for JZ and offered him all the support he could muster. (He even stated then JZ must serve a second term, despite JZ stating that he will only serve one term. Ha to that as well.) Then there is the Thabo story- he was anti Thabo Mbeki when JZ took over and now he is pro Thabo and anti JZ. He changes sides as he wishes and as he thinks it may suit him. This seems too happen with very little thought process it seems.

It was in the wake of the Zimbabwe trip, when at a news conference, Malema was MDC (Zim opposition party- who actually won the elections-?) knocking, stating that they have Sandton offices. A white BBC reporter, Jonah Fisher, pointed out that, Malema in fact also lives in Sandton. Naturally, not one who likes to be challenged, Jonah was tossed from the media meet along with being called a 'bastard' and an 'agent'.

The visit and the support for Mad Bob together with him attacking Zuma (the president he would once 'die for'), brought charges of bringing the party into disrepute. The result, a 2 year suspension (which was suspended for 2 years) and he had to attend anger management classes. (He has attended none to date.) The once warm and fuzzy relationship began to rust and get all jagged.

Malema continued to babble on about everything from nationalization to his racist anti white comments- and his attacks on the ANC leadership and policies. He also stated that the ANCYL would help overthrow the Botswana government. This all resulted in a second disciplinary hearing on 30 August 2011. He was suspended for 5 years in November 2011 for provoking divisions in the ruling party and bringing the party unto disrepute.

Eventually after many appeals and legal stuff nobody but the ANC understands, Julius was expelled from the ANC on 29th February 2012. This was largely due to his showing no remorse and for still being a little rabid pit bull, as he attacked the ANC leadership every opportunity he had -in public and the media. He stated outright that Mr Power Zuma would not have his support for his second terms. He went on to say that he and fellow suspended ANCYL leaders, would remain in their positions, even if the suspensions were upheld.

Malema is also being investigated by SARS for Tax issues, by the public protector and The Hawks for his role in irregular tenders and corruption. Things are not looking to good. The multi-millionaire who used to tell the people without food, that he was 'living poverty', is now seeing his sins catching up to him. This is not a bad things. He was and still will be for a while an force that will divide South Africa racially, for his own power game. He has found out that unfair or not, if you want to play the political game- you need to be on the right side to win. Do not bite the hand Julius. Do not launch attacks on people who hold your future in their hands.

This is but a brief overview- to go into details of Julies' transgressions and ranting, would take too long.
I do think that the ANC leadership used him as an unofficial mouthpiece and while he was in the graces of The Great Zuma, he was allowed to get away with virtually anything. I also firmly believe that this is why he did not know when to stop and grew intoxicated on his false sense of invincibility.
He will do what he can to remain a powerful force, but his support base is eroding as we speak. Without the ANC backing, he will have little power. I think this is the start of the end for our much beloved racist, Julius Malema.
